Welcome to our first online Wolf Call! Since West Hills opened in 1987, the Principal has had a newsletter with this title. I hope to publish monthly and perhaps more often as timely and "news you can use" is available and useful to all in our school community. How "connected" are you? Please read your way through this blog and "click" on the pictures to take you to the topics described. Hopefully you already know about our student information system,, but if you don't please register and get an account! You can see your students' grades, attendance, schedule and so much more but only if you "click" on the icon and "create an account".
Speaking of GRADES....they are available for our first progress report and located within Infinite Campus! All students and parents are encouraged to review and talk about grades in an ongoing basis so you can make sure there are no "surprises". Please take a read through this Los Angeles Times recent article, to see some interesting tips about communicating with teachers.
Talking about COMMUNICATION, in the next two days all 10th graders will have an amazing opportunity to learn about themselves and communicating with others in our UNITY DAYS. Working with 140 11th and 12th grade trained students, our students will work together to learn how to talk with one another, think about the world at large and their role in it as well as meet others and make friends. The goal of Unity Days is to understand that to be the best learner we can be, we need to know ourselves first, and then work with others in an ongoing basis with RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE and HONORABLE intentions, thoughts and actions.
WE ARE ONE, WE ARE THE PACK.....
Finally, I wanted to take you to the Counseling section of our school website. Please visit often SENIORS since college application month is coming up in November. There is a wealth of information for every grade level...check it out!
